MyDown

Privacy

This page describes the information MyDown keeps in order to run download pages and accounts.

Accounts

An account stores a username, a password hash, a role, and the time it was created. There is no public registration.

Files

For each file the service stores the name, size, type, storage location, the public code, and, when you import from a link, that source address.

Visits, downloads, and reports

Opening a download page or starting a download records the time and a shortened IP address. A report stores the reason, any details you write, the time, and the same kind of shortened IP address. The shortened address is not a full IP address.

Cookies

A signed-in browser receives one cookie that keeps the session. The download page sets a short-lived cookie so the wait can be checked. These cookies are required for those features. The notice at the bottom of the page lets you record that you have seen this.

Sharing

File bytes are sent from the configured storage service when someone downloads. MyDown does not sell account or visitor records.
